Tips & Tricks with Boreholes

gs3d

This webinar is aimed for advanced users of GeoScene3D and will focus on how to get the most out of borehole data. We will have a look at some new features, including the new Attribute wells. We will discuss different SQL options, the Locate layer tool, QC tools, Generic data options and other tips and tricks that will optimize your workflow.

Several options exist and can for some people seem kind of hidden. To create a better experience for our users, we will show you some of the many different options for visualizing borehole data at both cross sections, the map window and in 3D.

Feel free to write any questions you may have, regarding borehole data during your registration, then we will answer it during the webinar.

Aimed for: People working with GeoScene3D and those who are just curious.

Mapping of aquifers and vulnerability assessments – a three-part free webinar course series

17th of November, 30th of November & 9th of December 2021. All webinars will be in English and at the following time: 15:30-16:30 (Copenhagen CET) / 6:30-7:30 AM (Los Angeles PST) / 8:30-9:30 (Lincoln / Nebraska CST)

gs3d

This course series goes through the practicalities of building a 3D model for the city of Aqua Penuriam , where growing population and periods of draught has led to an urgent need of finding new water resources. Based on existing data a 3D geological model is needed for a better understanding of the subsurface geology, mapping aquifers, and finding new potential catchment areas. Read the full cases description below.
Participants will learn through a combination of presentations and “hands-on” work in GeoScene3D. The course will cover topics as interpretation and modeling workflow, importing and visualizing data including AEM-data, boreholes, water chemistry, etc. Participants will be given hands-on experience in 3D geological modeling, make 3D visualizations of model and data, and use the final 3D model for creating surface and isopach maps, cross sections, etc. In the end an expert will discuss the pro and cons for the potential catchment area.

The geoscience team at I•GIS is a part of the Danish suite of technical solution providers within the field of groundwater mapping and therefore has extensive expertise and experience in this area.
For the exercises in the course, we will use the GeoScene3D modeling software package, and between each sessions the participants are given excises for the upcoming session. For the exercises in the course, we will use the GeoScene3D modeling software package. The course participants will get free access to the software during the course.
The participants are required to use their own windows-based PC/laptop with a reasonable graphics card; see more on https://www.geoscene3d.com. It is highly recommended that you take part in all three sessions, but it is possible to only participate in one or two.

Aimed for: Geologists working with groundwater etc. Upcoming, new, and existing GeoScene3D users. And those who are just curious.
Registration and/or Questions: Please send an email to supportgs3d@i-gis.dk with name and organization/company.

The three sessions have the following focus:
1. Introduction to the webinar series and the case description. Importing, and visualizing different data in GeoScene3D (AEM, Boreholes, Water Chemistry etc.). Creating profiles and getting familiar with the local geology.
2. Interpretation and modelling. Creating Isopach map and discussion on considerations and choices in the modeling process.
3. Grid adjustment and discussion of the model output with expert, with focus on vulnerability, groundwater, volume calculations and conclusions.
